Jason "Jack" Hack - Arakan Pltn. 1986-87
Died in an MHE accident |
RIP Jason mate, from all the lads of Arakan Plt, we will have a drink for you at the reunion.
Paul O'Conner 25 July 2007 |
He always made me laugh with "I'm not an Aussie, I'm from Great Yarmouth".
Ian Millham 25 July 2007 |
Jason Hack was one of my MT soldiers at 11 Ord Coy, Soltau when he died after a MHE accident in which he was riding on a Hyster Forklift truck that bounced on uneven ground and the safety cage crushed him. Robbie Burns, my Sgt that day, was in charge of the MT Section and was heart broken at his death as he was for a long time afterwards. Jason was a good and very bright young soldier and liked by many of his friends, NCO's, Senior Ranks and Officers alike. He also took part in the Scotland 4x4 rally with the then OC Maj. Carl Hewitt just before his return to duty station and his accident. Sadly Jason was another casualty of the hard work and training with did at Soltau preparing for war and anything else that came our way. The world lost a good soldier that day.
Sadly because I was out of duty station that day with CSM Eddie Edwards in Minden, I had to return and be the investigator into his death with the SIB. One disadvantage of been a MHE Instructor and Garrison MTO I guess? |
