Les Underwood
We do not have a good photo of Les, but he can be seen on 58600026 and DRUM006. He is in the back row, 6th from the left. __________________________________________________________________________
I have been informed by Mick Mills that Les Underwood passed away on 10 January 2007 following a lengthy illness (cancer).Les was an ex Drummer & Bugler in the Junior Leaders Band c1959/61, following the JL's he spent time in Blighty before going to 20 OFP He was then posted to Aden, where l believed he stayed untill 67 when he left the service after completing his 6 years, Les was a clerk and his rank on leaving was Cpl.
Bill Chamberlain - January 2007 Les lived in Chatham, and l live in Wednesbury,we only saw each other once in the past 40 years, but we kept in touch by phone, and it was such a shock when his wife Pearl rang and told me he had died,Les had been suffering from cancer. Mick Mills - January 2007 My lasting memory of Les is his sense of humour. I remeber him sat in the printing press in Aden with one of theose thimble things for counting paper (think tey are called a bankers friend) stuck on the end of his nose. Chlidish but very amusing Stu Madden - January 2007
