I received the following email today from Ian Jannaway - Sgt "Titch" Jannaways' Son.

Dear richard, I was scrolling through the internet for Jannaways, and came across the RAOC site, and saw Sgt Jannaway mentioned,

He was my father! here is some info for you, he was born 1924 and died 1981, he served in the home guard in WW2 from 1944, and transferred to the REME, where he stayed until he left in 1969, at four foot 11 and half he was the shortest NCO in the British Army. He served in Malaya in the emergency, and British Army on the Rhine 1961-6. I hope this is of interest to you, I have a copy of the original photo as well. I had to join the RAOC site, even though I am ex navy!

Regards, Ian Jannaway
