Major E.B. Reason Challinor (Philip)

I was sorry to hear about the passing of Major Reason Challinor in The RAOC Gazette.
He was the first Officer Commanding the new 'C' Company in 1959 when I joined the Bn.
I am sure it was he who would say, "You're not men," "You are not boys". "You are 'Chaps'."

Sadly my father died aged 87 on 8/8/2005 in Amersham, Bucks after a long and fulfilled life.  His career in the army was his life and even after he retired from the RAOC in 1960 and civilian life in the 80\'s he continued his sense of comradeship by setting up the Ex-Prisoner\'s of War Assocation in High Wycombe and running the Poppy Appeal for the Wycombe area for many years and collecting for many charities.  For his services, the Mayor of High Wycombe awarded him a Millenium Medal in 2000.  Sadly due to the ill health of his wife Pamela, they had to move into an elderly people\'s home in Amersham in 2003 and both died in 2005. His daughter Anne lives in Hilversum, Holland with her husband Theo and 2 sons Charles and Alexander.
